About Ruth.

Ruth was given no middle name upon her birth on the first day of the 'Roaring Twenties', January 1st 1920. She was the child of Victor Hugo Taylor (1891-1966) and Beryl Georgia Hocking (1897-1940). Victor was the Grandson of English Immigrants who came to Salt Lake City in the 1850s as Mormon Pioneers. Ruth attended St Marks School of Nursing in Salt Lake, graduating just as WWII began. While stationed at Camp Roberts she met her husband, Joseph Fielding Schow (1919-1977). They married in Eugene, Oregon, on October 8, 1942. They had three boys; Joseph Taylor, b1944, Ronald Hawkins, b1947, and Vaughn LeMonte, b1951. She and Joe raised them, mostly, in West Covina, CA. In 1966 the couple, with Vaughn, moved back to Salt Lake City. They moved again to Lucerne, CA in, about, 1976 where she died on the 23rd January, 1985. While being a mother deeply devoted to her children, sometimes at great cost, she steadily worked as an emergency, a surgical and as a rehabilitation nurse.
